Earl’s Heating & Air Conditioning has been proudly serving Northwest Indiana since 1975, and we’ve been family-owned and operated ever since. We’ve built this company on honesty and integrity. Our History
Earl started in heating and air conditioning in 1953. After working for two companies in 23 years, Earl started Earl’s Heating & Air Conditioning in 1975. Soon after breaking ground with the new business at 4440 W. 61st Ave. in Hobart, Indiana, Earl brought on sons, Dave and Ken in 1976. Earl worked full time for 11 more years and then semi-retired in 1988 at the age of 65. In the fall of 2000, Earl completely retired and moved to Washington State to live with his daughter Karen. He happily lives in a log cabin with a perfect view of Mt. Rainer. Earl is still doing very well. One of the great qualities about Earl (other than the fact that he was probably the best repairman in Northwest Indiana) is his honesty and integrity. This continues to be the most important quality for us.
In 2014 Earl’s Heating & Air Conditioning moved to our present location at 5050 W. Lincoln Hwy Schererville , Indiana.
Passing the Torch
Ken has over 40 years experience in Heating & Cooling. He installed HVAC systems for 12 years. From 1988 to 2025 Ken ran the business and also did comfort consultations in your home to bring you the best, most current system. Ken went to every design and engineering class that he could. He still keeps going to school. Either he is a slow learner or he wants to keep Earl’s on the cutting edge of technology. In 2025, Ken made the tough choice to start down the path towards retirement.
The Legacy Continues
When Ken made the choice to retire, he wanted to make sure Earl’s stayed a family company even after he left. That desire led him to meet Brian and Jim, two brothers and third-generation tradesmen. The three had an immediate connection and decided Brian and Jim could ensure Earl’s legacy continued. They share the same values and believe in taking care of their customers and community.
Quality Products and Services
When you schedule installation or service with us, you can expect quality parts and products and repairs that hold up for a long time to come. In fact, we offer a one–year repair guarantee, including parts and labor. We provide service for all makes and models of HVAC equipment. Our technicians are electronically dispatched, which means that they have every customer’s service history at their fingertips.
We’ve been Trane Comfort Specialists and dealers since 2002, and we specialize in boiler systems, indoor air quality systems, and Navien tankless water heaters. And when we inspect a heating system, we use video heat exchanger inspections to see that you’re safe from CO poisoning, something that few local companies can do. And this is only part of what makes us special.
